The GEN Portal - Your Identity
In the Identity tab of the Portal, you can change various settings, some of which are important.
Contact Information
Title, Forename, Surname, Address, Phones are required so documents are correctly addressed.
Map Pin
The Map Pin is important so that our delivery agents are able to successfully deliver packages, arrive on site for service, or install connectivity. To obtain a map pin you need to:
- Open a browser and browse to www.openstreetmap.org
- Find your address
- Click the Share icon from the right, and check "Include marker"
- Drag the marker to your actual address
- Click on the link on the right under the LINK button
- Right click and select Copy
- Paste this link into your helpdesk ticket

TimeZone
This allows us to be time-zone sensitive and not wake you up at 4am with a ticket update.
Email Overrides
The system generates automated emails for various types of documents and these are, by default, sent to your email address. You can however override this behaviour by specifying valid email addresses for the following categories:
- Purchase - For Quotations, Confirmations, and Despatch Notes
- Finance - For Invoices, Credits, Statements, Reminders, etc.
- Access - For site access in or out of hours.
- Goods - For Despatch notes and delivery advisories.
- Escalation - For escalation of tickets and issues.
Any box left blank will default to your normal email address.
Website and Social
Here you can enter your website URL, and social media links.
The optional 'Backlink' option creates a backlink from the GEN Website to your website to boost SEO.
Account and Others
Account is your Account Number
Manager is your Account Manager
Do not forget to click UPDATE after making changes.
