Frequently Asked Question
The GEN Portal - Services
Services includes all the services you have with GEN and is broken down into the following sections. This data is mostly real-time with a few things updating daily.
Your GEN Services
This lists API keys, Service keys, and other information relating to GEN Services.
It shows your Credit Balance, for Arkane API customers.
Your HelpDesk Balance, for HelpDesk pre-pay customers.
Your Token Balance, for Serenity DataLake and Big Data customers.
You can then see charging history for API usage with the Date/Time, the API, the number of calls to that API, a Token usage (if any) and the charge (if any). These details are also provided daily in your API account statement and deducted from your Credit Balance daily.
Arkane API
Shows your API Keys enabled on the API along with Generate Templates and various details.
Domains
Here you can see all the domains you have with GEN, including the key dates, and flags such as Auto-Renew (Renew automatically from your credit balance), and LetExpire - don't renew and expire. The Note column shows useful indicates like 'Expired' and 'Expires in...'
Automation and Batch Services
For customers using batch services, such as mailing lists, and automated data processing (cleaning, washing, clashing, augmenting, etc) you will see the batch ID, the type of batch, the notification email (once complete), along with the records, pending, retry, processed, complete and a progress percentage.
Short Links
Here you can see your currently active short links with the gen.direct link shorten-er. The link on the left is the short-link and then Redirect is the full link that we're redirecting to. You can also see the use count and last use.
Use the Arkane API to pull detailed usage data such as logs of use, as well as updating links.
GENDNS Zones
GENDNS provides dynamic DNS resolution for your given host and zones. For example, a host of jelly and a zone of gendns.uk would be jelly.gendns.uk, and you can update this using the HID shown, then secret already supplied and the documentation on the gendns.uk website.
The IPaddress is the current address, and Last Updated shows the last time it changed.
