Unpacking and Initial Setup

1. Unpack the UPS

• Carefully remove all packaging materials, ensuring that you do not damage any components.

Connecting Mains Power

1. Plug in the Mains Cable

• Locate the mains input on your Synology NAS (this is usually a standard three-pin UK plug).
• Gently insert the power cable into the UPS.
• Plug the other end of the power cable into the mains socket, ensuring it is securely connected.

1. Connect to the UPS

• Power the Synology NAS via the UPS by connecting the mains input directly to the UPS unit.

Connecting the USB Cable

1. USB Connection

• Locate the USB output on your UPS.
• Connect one end of the provided USB cable into this outlet.
• Plug the other end of the USB cable into an available USB port on your Synology NAS (it is recommended to use a high-speed USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 port for optimal performance).

Setting Up the UPS in Synology DSM

1. Access Synology DSM

• Open your web browser and navigate to your Synology NAS’s IP address.

• Enter your username and password when prompted.

• Go to Control Panel > System > Power Management.

• Click on the UPS tab.
